When I finished college, I was so sure that I would immediately have a job. I pictured that being a cum laude will ensure that companies will call my phone and race to hire me. But when I stepped on the real world, my life nearly fell apart. I totally trusted the promise of a good education that I even depended on it as a career provider. What I went through was totally the opposite of my expectation. No company has called me -- save for this one company that sends a letter to all fresh graduates. I expected that my ideal job would automatically come to me because of my education background. Apparently, I had the wrong perception about getting a job.
However, that kind of perception has been my drive to study hard and finish school with flying colors. As I started my painstaking job hunting, I realized that my award was really meant for my parents. It was my consolation to them for supporting me. I thought, at least, I made my parents happy and satisfied for having a son like me. Excuse my arrogant tone please.
My first personal jobhunt sucked. Even though I applied online, I had to walk and look for the building where the office was located and I had to do it everyday. It was such a money-wasting activity, and if I was unlucky enough I would get rejected during the interview. Every day I waited for a call from the companies I had applied to and I checked my e-mail everyday, too. That was how depressing my life was. My only refuge during that jobhunt was my totally cool iPod. Thanks to my mom's prayers I got a job after two months of jobhunting.

McDonald's is a U.S.food service and restaurant company that operates the largest fast food chain. It is also the biggest reservoir of employment opportunities in the State. The company has branches not only in the country but also in foreign lands.
To tell you the truth, I worked in one of their branches in New York when I was still in college.
The company sees the importance of a superb benefits program, and they do take care of their employees. Among the many benefits that the company gives are insurance, medical, health, rewards, and incentives. If you're a student who needs to earn money for your tuition, applying at McDonald's is not a bad idea. If you're a housewife who wants to earn extra cash while giving your family the right amount of attention, the company can give you flexible work schedules. This is what I love about the company, they value the personal and professional goals of the people who work for them.
If you're really determined to landing a job at the restaurant chain, visit their website online or better yet, grab your bicycle and drive to the nearest branch in your county. If you can make every meal a Happy Meal, then I think you can make it to McDonald's.

While others consider it as a daunting task leaving the business to professional recruiters.
The good thing about professional recruiters is that they know hiring very well than others. What makes a company successful -- what makes it thrive at any time and in any economy -- are its people. Having the right people in the right jobs, a company can achieve more than what is expected from it: whether by direct or indirect benefits. Achieving the perfect balance with these benefits are critical to the company as well as the workforce.
In much the same manner, what makes an individual employee succeed are his qualifications for the job. At the very onset, a person who looks for the job has to be qualified for the he is applying for. By marketing his strengths and skills, he increases the chance of getting hired by the company.
During the job interview, we are often asked what are our strengths; what sets us apart from the rest of the bunch of applicants. And almost always, what comes to mind are our knowledge-based skills -- the skills that we acquired from education and experience. While you may think that these skills are very important, yes they are. But the next person in line might have it too or may even be more qualified. That is where your characteristics of being unique comes in. So the next time you're being asked that same question, let him know what makes you unique -- what makes you the person that you are and show him that you're the best person for the job.

A huge chunk of those who are employed, whether public or private, work for companies. That being the case, these employers are not their own boss. They work for another, earning money in exchange of their talents, skills or capabilities. But most of them, if not all, cherish the idea that maybe one day they'll be in the moccasins of their employer. That one day they'll pay employers and be called the boss of the company. But so much for wishful thinking, if you want to be your own boss all you need to do is open up your business or be a freelancer.
Freelancing is very lucrative for professionals like engineers, writers, photographers, accountants, among others. They can accept contracts while keeping their current jobs. They can work for a company during weekdays and freelance during weekends. This is a very practical solution for people who are in dire need of cash. But there are a lot of freelancers who are serious about being on their own. That way they hold their time and no one intercedes with their decisions. But before doing so, you have to put a great deal of research.

So now your 15 years of academic life is finally over and you have your much anticipated diploma of the degree you sweat and cried upon. The time has come for you to go out and experience the real world in your first ever job. Here are five important tips to hit on your desired job!
Flaunt thy grades! Hey if you're a magna cum laude and your grades are divine, be proud of it. Besides, your grades show how good you probably are. Next, mke an impressive intro through your resume. Your resume is also one of your tools to land in your prospective employers. It should contain everything about you and what you can offer in any company. Of course, brevity and consistency should also be observed. Then, be absolutely proactive. Don't just sit there and wait for something to happen. Employers won't go find you (well, unless you're that really good). You have to act and find them.
Another option is to look approachable and don't for get to smile. I know that it is very difficulty to stay calm and not feel nervous during interviews, but remember that if employers find you charming and approachable, they also might relax on you too. Lastly, be grateful. Saying your "thank you" after the interviews is also important to show your gratitude and interest in the position / company you are applying to.

Researching the profile of the company before the job interview is a good practice. There are applicants who are not concerned about the background of the company they are applying to. But, most prospective employers usually ask the applicant if he or she knows something about the company.
The reason why some managers ask this point is because they want to know if the applicant is serious with their applications. The hiring manager would also want to determine if the applicant is resourceful and smart enough to know what kind of company that he or she will land in the future.
On the part of the prospect employee, he or she can determine if the nature of the company will fit to his or her unique personality. Researching the company before you attend the interview is important. As much as possible, before you send out your Curriculum Vitae to the company, you should have an idea about the company services, the economic status, as well as the environment of the company. Knowing about the company will help you in your decision when the job offer is being presented.

Everyone has his own dream job. Yet the reality is that not everyone is able to land on his ideal job not necessarily due to the lack of employment opportunities, but rather because of the often strict requirements of employers and the stiff competition with other job seekers. Nonetheless, there are many ways through which you could still determine and attain your dream job.
If you are still on the hunt or are looking for other opportunities, you may consider the following tips. You must think about the things that you prioritize and value most in terms of work and environment. Too many people often fall into a job, which they least like since they have failed to discover their priorities. Then, it's not only enough to limit your search in reading the newspaper or the online ads. Try to ask your friends and acquaintances. Who knows, they might be able to give you a valuable tip for your job search. Networking has effectively worked to some jobseekers.
Finally, consider the fields where you excel. Your talents, potentials, and fields of expertise will also help you determine the fitting work for you. Obviously, it would be too unwise for you to embark into a job, which is far from your expertise.

In this modern world, where almost everything comes instantly, the opportunity to get a job for a good income is very competitive. Not everyone is packed with incomparable skill, intensive knowledge, leadership, and good personality. Hence, employment opportunities seem difficult for others.
But the good thing is, there are a lot of recruitment agencies and outsourcing companies in the world. If it looks hard for you to apply directly to a company, you can try the service of an employment agency. However, no matter how efficient the agency is in terms of job searching, if your qualifications are not fitted for the vacant position, still they cannot recommend you to the client.
That is why, you have to emphasize your distinctive talent, skills, knowledge, and your work history so they may know what position and what company will fit to your qualifications. Since there are a lot of employment opportunities abroad and in local companies, you must groom yourself as a competitive employee. Since there are many candidates vying for a single position, you must stand out and let them know why you must be the one to fill-in the vacant job post.

The Apprentice is a reality tv show that aims to search for the next big thing in the corporate business and real estate industry. Of course, eventually working for someone like Trump means getting a six-figure pay and one-year initial contract, but I think the best part of the show is the experience of working for different well-known companies or clients and on their campaigns. The Apprentice definitely provides the big window of opportunity every person could ever dream of.

One of the perks of being an employee in some companies is the person gets prioritized when it comes to filling in vacancies. That means that the people in the company are first in line to have the potential of further developing their career.
When the company announces an internal hiring opportunity, the employee must immediately grab the chance and make sure that his or her qualifications and performance, or current work are related or are an advantage to the position. The employee would not want the company to look elsewhere for that talent, right?

Many companies today have embraced technology in such a way that it enables them to recruit and hire individuals for their own businesses. Most companies have their own websites that not only allows the prospect employee an overview of the company's background and leadership profile, but also of present vacancies. Often, these websites permit applicants to deposit their resumes in the database, or answer essays and other basic information that the company deems important in considering for employment. Applying online minimizes the hassle of job inquiries, and hastens the speed with which the application is being processed.
So, the next time you go scouting for work, just position yourself in front of the computer and check out the website of your desired company; you might just find the opportunity you are looking for.
