Job interviews are one of the main components of job applications. This is your chance to make a first impression, so make sure that you make a good one.
What you should wear
In the past, wearing corporate office clothes were the staple. The best thing to do these days is to scour the attire of people working in the company that you are eyeing and dress accordingly. If the dress code of the company is very casual, however, going for a more conservative look for that first interview won’t hurt.
What you should bring
What you should not forget to bring to a job interview includes your resume, your portfolio, and your self-confidence. Giving off that confident vibe in the way you stand, talk, and shake hands will do wonders for the first impression that you want to give.
How you should speak and look
The best way to speak confidently is to practice. Know how to vocalize and how to project your voice in order to make yourself clearly heard. Grooming is one of the most important things you must do before going for an interview. Make sure you look neat and clean because this will make you look more presentable.

You can only dress like a pro if you know how to be a pro. Being a pro needs attitude and discipline. You can also be a pro even in the simplest way of being elegant and clean. You can only be clean if you know how to organize your things as well as manage your time. Because time is important in planning your day's outfit. You can also be a pro if you practice courtesy. Being courteous in terms of dressing means you know what cloth gets respect or indecent comments. Dress like a pro if you want the former.

There are many people who love to wear formal clothes even in an ordinary day. Well, even though you are not a boss you can also dress formally. It's your individual choice to wear your fashion statement everyday. But, there are also limits to that. If you're going to a Hawaii-inspired party at your office, don't go formal or too casual. Sometimes you have to join the crowd, bro. Formals dressing is also required in job interviews. During these types of event, it is a MUST that you dress formally because first impressions last.

I have a friend who has never worn a formal dress before. That's because he's a reggae type of guy with that Bob Marley look. One day, our group decided to change his over-all look because it was our graduation day in high school. We needed to cut his hair but he didn't want it. So, we just focused on his wear and his shoes. We borrowed his dad's coat and tie and shoes. We didn't want to let the moment past without taking pictures of his new look so we got my dad's techy Canon cam. He was kinda happy about the result as well as his parents.

I know you already know that looks matter because as long I'm concerned it's a trite topic. But, it's just a matter that people, until today, tend to neglect. If you want, you could prove me wrong . Having a job is quite difficult, most especially for fresh (fresh as in oozing, sizzling) graduates, that's why you should be aware of the things that truly matter when looking for the right job. And first on the list is how you look.

Alright, you know what to wear for a job interview. How about when you're already working? I'm sure there are a lot of hassles in choosing the right outfit everyday. One is the fear of repeating the same outfit that your officemates start to notice. The solution is to mix and match. You can repeatedly wear the same clothes without those possible rumors about your worn-out outfit by learning how to mix certain clothes that match. Take note of the color combination so that you'll look gorgeous.

Express yourself when choosing what to wear. Express your creativity and resourcefulness. If you need a belt (for women and gaypals), use a large hanky. You can even use your mama's silk table cloth and tie it around your waist to look sexy and dazzling in the eyes of men. Remember that you're not limited to anything save for the weather. Of course, you must base your outfit on the current weather. Or, simply wear your natural self.

Surprisingly, job seekers suffer from a humongous pile of stress even before they land the job they want. Stress usually takes over during the phase of an interview. Seekers panic over preparing for an interview. They panic about wearing a black tie on a white suit or a gold tie on a pink suit. They suddenly have problems on how they'll introduce themselves to the interviewers and how to answer their questions.
Sunday, April 22. 2007
The worst form of the stress commonly occurs during the interview itself. This is the time when you choose to just pack your things and go home even if the interviewer hasn't seen your shadow yet. Stress during interviews causes you to stutter, panic, freeze, and worst, faint in front of the recruitment officer. This isn't exactly what you have planned -- if ever you made a plan. Stress comes from lack of sleep, jitters, and fear of rejection.

Remember that the interview is your chance to get the best job in the land. Arrive about 10-15 minutes early before the schedule. Use the time to relax, collect your thoughts, and gather your composure. Imagine yourself greeting the interviewer with a smile and answering his questions confidently. If the interviewer drops a difficult question, pause, and please don't panic. Give him the best answer that you can manage, minus the uhms, and the ahs.

Going to an interview is not as easy as going to a bar with your worthless bunch of mean, alcoholic friends. An interview is as difficult as the televised audition in the American Idol. I consider you lucky if ever you'll find an interviewer as nice as Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul
But what if you're interviewer is as rude, sarcastic, and unpredictable as Simon Cowell? Will you still have the balls or guts to face him? I know you won't, you coward cockroach! But don't worry, this entry will help you prepare for the big day with a not-so-nice person imitating Simon!
First off, you must be as handsome and as pretty as you were on your first date. Your appearance matters a lot because some employers base their criteria on how you look and how you carry your clothes. Present yourself well and keep an eye contact with the job interviewer. You can blink if you need to, but don't blink too much or else they'll think you have an infectious eye herpes. Answer his questions as honestly and as brief as possible. Remember, long answers are often nonsense answers. Make sure that you're not too impressive and not too lousy, or else you'll be as horrible as Mary Roach and William Hung.

Job interviewers are like those shitty homosexual judges in beauty pageants. They judge you depending on how you wear your properly ironed suits, and with the way you answer their nonsense questions. If I'm not mistaken, which rarely happens, most interviewers in a job are gays. So if you're a guy and you have a job interview, better take a good bath because these pretentious, queer-eyed professionals will surely love to lick your junk.
I never went to a job interview, (like there's a need to), but I know how an applicant should prepare for his job interview. If you're a guy or an undersexed lesbian, this blog entry is for you. Never wear a shirt that you've worn in the basketball court. Interviewers need not to smell your stench to know that you should be dumped outside their building. Shave: your beard, your mustache, your pubic hair, and your chest hair. You'll look cleaner and more decent without the fur on your body. If you can manage to spray or dab an aftershave or cologne before entering the interview room, the better. Sometimes interviewers don't care even if you're a dumbass, as long as you smell good in bed. Lastly, bring your personal digital assistant in case you get bored while the interviewers hump you.

When we were young, our parents taught us to always put our best foot forward in whatever occasion that we are involved in. Attending a job interview is one of those occasions, where we have to be in our best to secure an important future job in the company. Appearances do affect how the recruitment specialist would judge you. Even if you have an impressive resume and good credentials, the first thing that they are going to see is you, so presentation of the self counts. Since looks and the way one dresses are important aspects of a job interview, here are some tips on what clothes to wear and how to look your best during the big day.
Since job interviews are formal, applicants should also wear formal clothes that suit the environment of the office. For women, they should try wearing black skirts with blazer atop a formal blouse. For the guys, they should wear black or brown slacks and long-sleeved polos. Shaving one's beard and mustache, could be a plus point for the guys. Remember that neatness is important. You should avoid wearing rugged jeans and t-shirts, that might turn off the employer in hiring you. Women should wear comfortable yet stylish high-heeled shoes and arrange their hair where their face can be seen. Wearing make-up could enhance one's beauty, but it is not that necessary. With these cool tips, I'm sure that the brilliant dream jobs you're dreaming of will be yours.

Armed with an impressive resume and an ounce of confidence, a job applicant may think that it's all that he needs to get it right in the interview with his potential employer. He does not know that physical appearance matters as well. The impression that physical appearance and self presentation takes a back seat to qualifications, knowledge and experience in the job search process is totally misplaced.
The common mistake among older job applicants is not keeping an updated personal style. As we get older, we tend to be less fashion-conscious, therefore, outdated. An outdated fashion sense is at best an ugly predicament. When you carry a hairstyle that was flattering 20 years ago, your interviewer will swear not to see you in her office. Another attire faux pas is wearing clothes that are too tight
When you're looking for a job and are determined to get it, by all means you have to update your wardrobe. Updating your wardrobe may sound like technical stuff, but it's fairly easy. Do a little research in fashion magazines or the internet. Picture how you would look in these clothes. When you've decided to pick a style, it's time to go shopping.

For men, a great finishing touch for a corporate ensemble is a silk tie. Never underestimate the power of a silk tie. Dressing for success almost always equates to choosing the right tie for the right outfit. Ties have been a part of an elegantly dressed, skillful executive men for nearly 350 years now.
Choosing the perfect color of tie for your suit is a Herculean task for some men, that's why the purpose of this entry is to give tips to men on choosing the right color. Your tie is supposed to have a shade darker than your shirt. The preferred fabric for ties is the silk, although satin and polyester are also among the new favorites.
When shopping for ties, keep in mind its length and width. When wearing a silk tie, acceptable length is its tip should touch your belt. Do not buy ties on the basis of its style or look. Try to feel for the fabric, too. If your skin didn't like it, don't buy it. One way for caring for your tie is not leaving it knotted because it creates permanent wrinkles.

More than your resume and your answers to the interviewer's questions, don't you think you also need to focus on your looks. The job interview is the most dreaded part every time you apply for a job. More often than not, first time job hunters go there empty-handed because they're not that well informed of the rules. They come unprepared and unfashionable creating a negative impression to their prospective employers.
For the males out there, give special emphasis on your tie knot. A good-looking tie knot can build or boost your confidence. The moment your prospective employer sees you, he'll think that you've made a great deal of preparation in your appearance; which is good.
Using the Windsor knot to do your tie, you are sure to show off some spunk that can well be your edge from the other applicants. I'm sure you know what a Windsor knot is? It's the most usual way of tying a tie. After you're done with the tie, focus on your other accessories, just don't overdo it.

"Dress to impress" is probably the most used term in job-hunting. Certainly because first impression is always critical. Your appearance is what your potential employer first sees. That is why it is important to make an extra effort to wear the proper attire for the job that you are seeking. The reality is most employers make short cuts in the employment process. Here your personal appearance must capture the employer in a positive way-- one that creates a good impression. This way dressing up to impress gives you a competitive advantage over the other job hunters.
Conservative dressing is always the safest and easiest way to capture your interviewer’s attention. Try to do a little research about the company so that you avoid coming to the interview underdressed which is the common scenario that happens. This may send a signal to your prospective employer that you do no give much importance about the job. Call the Human Resources department of the company and ask what is the proper dress code to make sure.
It doesn't matter to spend a lot for a proper attire, what's important is you keep at least two sets of attire to get started on your job hunting. But if your budget allows you to, then you might need more than just two. Do not forget to wear very minimal accessories. Just keep in mind to pay attention to even the smallest details that you sometimes ignore like groomed hair, clean nails, and the like.

You have a job interview tomorrow. Now that your resume got their attention, you need to have a remarkable appearance, too. You don't have to look like a fashion model to win the position. You just have to dress decently and appropriately.
Try to know the dressing practice of employees in the company. The standard attire for a job interview is a corporate suit. However, due to changes in fashion, some companies are not strict with the attire of the applicants for as long as they are properly dressed. But no matter what you wear, make sure that it is clean, unstained, and well-pressed. In addition, make sure that your hair is great to let others see your pretty face. You should polish your shoes and clean your finger nails, too. They will surely notice them the moment you step at their office.
Don't appear with a lot of dangling and sparkling jewelry with you. A pair of earrings and a simple necklace will do. Leave your big bag or laptop at home. There's no use for those. Turn off your mobile phone during the interview. Wear a smile, too.

In the corporate world, especially in companies where formal dress codes are strictly observed, appearance is everything. From rank-and-file employees to the executive management, it is important that the proper attire in the office is being followed. I know a company where the human resource department is not really intent on letting anyone get away with flamboyant dresses or attention-grabbing accessories, so even if you dress as spectacularly as Charlize Theron, the head would not think twice on issuing you a memorandum, even for a one-time offense.
Usually, the only colors accepted as part of the corporate attire are black...and more black. Well, brown and beige are acceptable, but other than that, it's hard to tell. But, if you are tired of these plain, all-too neutral colors, it's a good thing that pin-striped suits are around.
Pin-striped suits somehow add some spice to a plain office wardrobe, simply because of the line design. Anyone can wear the complete suit or just the jacket with no accessories. The cut of pin-striped suits are formal and flattering because they are not too tight or stiff and the vertical lines make the person look taller and dignified. The fun part is, these suits come in different shades without losing their formality so even navy blue pin-striped suits are acceptable even in strict offices.

Finally, you are about to attend your much-awaited job interview. Now that you are about to face the employer, you got to have a pleasing appearance. Let's call it, an employment fashion sense. You should make a great impression the moment you enter the office's threshold.
When applying for job, personal appearance is also assessed. Many employers prefer to hire a person with a pleasing personality. But, I am not telling that you must be an extremely beautiful. Dressing decently and appropriately will do. So, planning ahead is a good thing to do when you get your notice for an employment interview.
Plan your outfit. Your shoes should match your clothes. As much as possible, avoid large printed, neon-colored suits; plain color clothes are acceptable. Of course, make sure that your outfit fits to your physique. Keep the clothes clean, and press them if necessary. Other things you should prepare are your nails, keep them cleaned and trimmed. Your teeth should be brushed and have a fresh breath.
And please, don't wear heavy-scented perfume. It is safest to wear no perfume at all. And of course, clean and shine your shoes. They will also be noticed.

Dressing neatly and dressing appropriately are two different things when you are preparing for a job interview. Yes, you can wear clean attire, but if your get-up is not suitable for the job and the environment of the company, your appearance will still be judged. You should do both; dress appropriately and neatly. Like writing a good resume, impress the employer with your appearance.
When you got a call for interview, you should prepare your attire a night before your schedule. If you do not know what specific clothes to wear in the company you are applying to, put on a decent-looking suit. Never go with wrinkled clothes, press them first. If possible, never use a bright-colored and big-prints clothes. A plain color will do.
You should also wear clean shoes. Polish them before you go. Also, wearing pieces of jewelry is permissible, like a pair of earring. In addition, use a minimal amount of cologne for fresher feeling, and maintain a fresher breath. And, do not chew a gum or a candy if you want to please the interviewer.
Finally, before you see the interviewer, check yourself in the rest room. Be sure you've combed your hair.

Today many people all over the world are seeking for employment. It is indeed hard to look for an employment despite the many opportunities. You are probably wondering why you experience this hardship though you think you are qualified for the some of the job offerings.
There are some companies that look for someone who has good looks. So even if you have the brain and you could do the job better than anyone else, you are being denied with the opportunity if you are not with pleasing personality. Therefore you were being discriminated because of your appearance. But this should not bother you because as long as the applicant is well groomed and has interest with the job, he will be considered. The applicant must only have to look respectable and confident.
As an applicant you can capture the attention of your employer by dressing appropriately but this will depend on the type of job you are looking for. This will leave an impression to your employer that you are really interested with the job and you are the only person suited for the job. Your appearance mirrors your personality and behavior.

Ladies spend a lot of time in front of the mirror. They want everything to be perfect, from the strands of their hair, down to their toes. Everything should match well with each other.
Women must admit that there are times it is hard to match office clothes with one's footwear. This is one of the factors why women spend quite some time pampering themselves. Women like to wear the perfect pair of footwear to any attire they are wearing. It is of utmost importance to wear the proper clothes and footwear if one is headed for the office.
Here are some tips for women in deciding which pair goes with what attire.
Women will never go wrong with pumps. This type of footwear may be worn with skirts or straight-cut slacks. Pumps, sling-back style will do wonders for the ladies' suits during spring.
Consider the material that the suit is made of. Different textures will call for different types of footwear to match. Nylon and silky clothes will go well with microfiber footwear. Whereas, leather will do for heavier fabrics.
Lastly, women should not be hesitant to purchase high-quality costlier shoes. They will benefit in the end because their feet will become healthier. Plus, the shoes will have a longer stay in the shoe rack.

Accessories are like the icing to the proverbial cake. If the right accessories are worn, they enhance your facade; adding flair to your suit. During a job interview, not only should you wear the proper accessories, you should also wear the right amount. Always remember that your accessories and your clothes should complement with each other.
Generally, you are only allowed to wear seven accessories including your wrist watch. For women, wear only modest jewelries and men, dont forget your tie. Leather purses or wallets are recommended since they give off the feeling of sophistication. As well as serving a purpose, a neat folder containing your important documents can also be used as an accessory. These are just a few accessories you will need to add impact to your attire.

In a strict business sense, all the aspects of a person's attire, including shoes, should be in compliance with the company's dress code. The required shoes in corporate settings for female employees or applicants are usually closed shoes with heels. The shoes' heels should be about one to two inches in height.
If the pair of shoes worn are open-toed, it should be slingbacks, or at least, straps that wrap around the ankle. The formal colors for shoes are black or brown, but most companies accept any shoe color or style as long it is not too loud and is appropriate for the business outfit.
